Bioelectrical impedance analysis
This model of TANITA electronic scale uses bioelectrical impedance analysis technology. During measurement, a weak, safe electrical signal is passed through the human body. In fatty tissue, this signal encounters greater resistance than in muscle mass and other tissues of the body. The resistance with which the signal passes through the human body is called impedance. The greater the resistance (impedance) that the signal encounters, the higher the reading of fatty tissue in the human body will be.
Measurements;
- Weight,
- % body fat,
- % of water in the body,
- muscle mass,
- basal metabolic rate (BMR) in kcal/kJ,
- visceral fat.
